Back to the blogging world with exciting news...

Welcome Emma Suzanne Atherly - my newest niece! Born on December 30th, she is the wonderful ending to a stressful time for my sister Amy and her family. Amy had to be induced nearly four weeks early as it was discovered that Emma was not growing well in her uterus any more. Her doctor and a specialist decided she would do better "on the outside" and she was quickly induced. We were all a little nervous but felt confident all would be well.
My little sis - the proud new mama!! Emma was perfect and all went smoothly, save for Amy's wonky epidural that only took on one side. Ugh. But all worth it for this sweet little babe! They don't really know how much she weighs which is super funny. She was measured at 5 lbs. the night she was born; the next day on a different scale said 5 lbs. 12 oz; and when she was weighed again to go home, the scale said 5 lbs. 6 oz. Let's just say she is a sweet, perfect little peanut.
I love this picture of her new little family. She says she got choked up right before her husband took the picture as she realized these were her two children. I got choked up too. I have had similar experiences with the births of my children - it is so wonderful, amazing and overwhelming to bring children into this world and see them so fresh from Heavenly Father. And then to know that they are entrusted to your care. Little Emma and Owen are so lucky to have Amy and Mike as their parents. Congratulations!!

P.S. I promise I will have Christmas posts coming soon. I have enjoyed my blogging hiatus during the busy month of December but am anxious to show you what we've been up to!

Cute post on Amy and Emma!

Welcome BAACK! I've missed you so much! In fact, I've been planning to call you since I've had a Nikki drought all month! Though I'm glad you enjoyed your hiatus and family time...but also heard you got sick AGAIN in there somewhere!

Can't wait to see your updates!

How sweet! Amy looks great too - glad with a little scare everything turned out great - I don't want the scare, but would love to be able to deliver a month early! Glad you are back blogging again - I need to kick myself in gear as well. Hope you had a fun holiday!

Oh, I love tiny babies! How exciting. I remember after having Hayden feeling like a real family, so I can relate! Looking forward to more pics!

Beautiful mom & adorable babies! Glad all is well. That's funny about the mystery weight issue...we had a similar experience, but with the time of birth. 3 different clocks in the L&D room, all with different times. :)

She is a sweet, perfect little peanut! And, it's even more fun to really hold the little peanut! She's tiny, has a really loud cry but is nice and calm. It's a breeze taking her on outings so far. Can't wait for everyone else to meet her!
