What did you do on your Veteran's Day?

Does it get any better than this? It was an amazingly gorgeous day.

I have been thinking a lot lately about how lucky I am to have great friends and how much I love our ward.

I'm also so grateful for the blessing of staying home with my kids and my husband who helps me do that by working so hard. It is beautiful days like this that make it worth every hard day I have.

However, I would love to hear from Riley (newbie blogger!), Camie, Kameron, Jessica, Cortney, Julee, Maryann and Erica - and anyone else who wants to give us a little peek at your day!
Happy Monday!

Our W.T. Backyard

You will be happy to know that it has since been cleaned up so that we could overseed and put cow poop on our grass, as the boys say. For all you non-Arizonian's out there - I know you're so confused. We are going to be building a real half-pipe at some point when our dad and their dad have some spare time which is never.

What's going on at your house?

Happy Halloween!
We had a great day (or should I say days) and hope you did too.

We had parties o'plenty. Each of the boys had one at school that I was able to go to.

Jake is the mummy! The moms helping in the classroom got to vote - Jake's group was the funniest.
Dylan and I made a toliet paper pumpkin. They are really easy and cute. He thought it was super cozy and so he's giving it a hug.

Carter and Miss Mechelle. Yes - I know I did his mustache better for his party day than for trick or treating. I'm a dork.

And for the biggest surprise of the year...

The boys actually touched pumpkin guts and helped carve their own pumpkins!
This must mean my kids are getting big. Weird.
Jake making his "whack o'lantern" with golf tees and a hammer.

And last but not least - our trick or treating crew! Thanks Riley and Jon for hosting again!

The kids were totally into it this year and didn't get tired out until we were way loaded down with candy. They are so nice to work so hard to get me treats. What?! I promise I share.
We sure had a fun holiday - can't wait until next year!

What a nice visit we had with Patrick's dad and his wife, Sun! It was a quick weekend but we packed it with all sorts of fun things. First on the agenda was a belated birthday party for Grandpa Watson. The kids had fun signing the Happy Birthday song for Grandpa and he got a kick out of it as well.
Saturday, Dylan had a soccer game and then we headed over to the community park for Anthem's Autumnfest. We enjoyed some fun activities and vendors' booths, had some tasty lemonade and watched the boys jump in the bounce houses. Jake also got to try the bungee trampoline jump that he has always wanted to do. We had lunch at Sonic (gotta love their yummy drinks!) and spent lots of time coloring with the cool markers Grandpa brought. Later we went to the carnival that is part of the Autumnfest. We hadn't taken the kids for a couple of years (can you say rip-off!) but we thought it would be a fun thing to do with Grandpa and Sun. Little did we know....

Carter enjoying the car race. You know you wish you had an orange mustache too.

Dylan did the big, giant slide all by himself!

And this is what Jake wanted to do. He managed to convince his very motion-sickness-prone dad to ride with him. After all, you can't ride alone. And really, how bad could it be?

Let's just say that Jake loved it. His dad - not so much. Patrick was too sick to continue on with the carnival so we went home with the kids only riding one ride each. I was really proud of Jake - I think it was worth a couple of pukes from Dad, don't you?
We finished the weekend with a relaxing Sunday - the best part was our BBQ dinner that we ate outside. It was such a beautiful evening and we talked and talked while the kids played ever so nicely. It's so great when that happens.
We had such an awesome time with our family and are so happy they took the time to come and visit us!
