What a nice visit we had with Patrick's dad and his wife, Sun! It was a quick weekend but we packed it with all sorts of fun things. First on the agenda was a belated birthday party for Grandpa Watson. The kids had fun signing the Happy Birthday song for Grandpa and he got a kick out of it as well.
Saturday, Dylan had a soccer game and then we headed over to the community park for Anthem's Autumnfest. We enjoyed some fun activities and vendors' booths, had some tasty lemonade and watched the boys jump in the bounce houses. Jake also got to try the bungee trampoline jump that he has always wanted to do. We had lunch at Sonic (gotta love their yummy drinks!) and spent lots of time coloring with the cool markers Grandpa brought. Later we went to the carnival that is part of the Autumnfest. We hadn't taken the kids for a couple of years (can you say rip-off!) but we thought it would be a fun thing to do with Grandpa and Sun. Little did we know....
Carter enjoying the car race. You know you wish you had an orange mustache too.
Dylan did the big, giant slide all by himself!

And this is what Jake wanted to do. He managed to convince his very motion-sickness-prone dad to ride with him. After all, you can't ride alone. And really, how bad could it be?
Let's just say that Jake loved it. His dad - not so much. Patrick was too sick to continue on with the carnival so we went home with the kids only riding one ride each. I was really proud of Jake - I think it was worth a couple of pukes from Dad, don't you?

We finished the weekend with a relaxing Sunday - the best part was our BBQ dinner that we ate outside. It was such a beautiful evening and we talked and talked while the kids played ever so nicely. It's so great when that happens.
We had such an awesome time with our family and are so happy they took the time to come and visit us!

It's about time you posted! I had no idea about what you've been up to. That was neat that Patrick's dad came for a visit. You live in such a cool place. Who has a carnival in their community? Did Patrick really puke?
Patrick is such a good dad- way to take one for the team! :) I'm so glad the weather has finally cooled off- now is when the fun begins!
Yes - he really did puke. Two times. Ugh!
Yes you have got to love Sonic for their drinks and especially that ice! Looks like you had a good time with Patrick's dad, minus the puking! I can't believe Jake wanted to go on that! Poor Patrick...I know exactly how he felt! I threw up on a ride similar to this in high school, but I couldn't make it until we got off the ride so I puked all over myself!
Oh and Carter looks adorable in that car; so grown up!
Way to go Patrick! Greg get sick on those rides, too. There is no way that he would ride them with the kids, though. What a good guy you married!
Your boys are sooo adorable! I'm glad you had a good visit with Dave and Sun. I can't believe Patrick went on a carnival ride--when we were little he could barely ride in a car without puking!
Hee hee. Karl takes dramamine when we go to Lagoon, but he still gets sick! All the boys look great in their costumes. Karl would be envious... he totally wanted to be Doctor Jones this year.
